A hangover may seem difficult to cure, but there are many methods to make it go away. The most beneficial of all them is to eat your way through it. The right foods can make your hangover go away.

Here’s a list of food and drinks that are known to help get over a hangover:

Water

Water

Your number one priority when trying to deal with a hangover is to drink water. It helps with the pounding headache, among many other things. You need to remember that alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it doesn’t let your body retain liquids, making you dehydrated. When there’s no water in your system, your body will look for other sources of water, your brain for e.g., which is why you get a throbbing headache.

Drink a few glasses of water before going to bed after a heavy night. Do the same in the morning.

Sports drinks and coconut water

Sports drinks are generally advised against, but for a hangover, these sugary drinks are perfect! These drinks are packed with electrolytes that help you fuel up and kill a hangover. Coconut water is also known to have the same effect. Coconut water is known to have at least 5 electrolytes that are found in our bodies.

Ginger or Peppermint tea

Tea is used for soothing and relaxing purposes. Herbal teas like ginger and peppermint are known to relieve nausea and motion sickness. Peppermint tea also helps with stomach aches and digestion.

Oats

Oats are a popular superfood eaten all over the world. They’re known as complex carbs since they are slow to release energy in the body, keeping you full for longer. A hot bowl of oats is a great way to bring down a hangover. It contains nutrients like Vitamin B, calcium, magnesium, and iron. It will also give you the energy to get on with your day and replenish the sugar level in your blood.
