What To Wear and Not to Wear On a Wine Tasting Tour

Wine tasting is always a wonderful experience. After all, who doesn’t enjoy going to a winery with their friends, tasting one exquisite wine after another, all while enjoying wonderful weather and a well-planned tour.

When there’s so much to enjoy, it’s easy to forget about small details, like what outfit you’re going to wear. This is why we’ve put together a list of dressing dos and don’ts that you might want to look at before heading on your next wine tour.

Comfortable shoes

Comfortable shoes are a must when you’re going to a winery, especially if you’re taking a wine tour. This is particularly important because if you’ve got one winery after another on your schedule, you can safely assume that there’s going to be a lot of walking involved—and that can get tiring.

We recommend that tourists wear flat sandals, loafers, wedges, or slides when they’re coming on a tour with us. Not having to deal with pain in your feet will allow you to focus on the many wines that you’ll discover on your wine tasting adventure!

Pack Light

You might want to take a lot of things with you on the tour, but we strongly advise that you pack as little as possible.

You’ll have to walk a lot, carry and read brochures, and so on. Taking care of your backpack and other stuff that you’re carrying is only going to be an additional hassle.

And for the ladies, please don’t carry a clutch or a bag without a strap. We’ve had several incidents where female clients left purses behind on a barrel. The best choice is a cross-body bag—simple, practical, and light!

Go Light on the Perfume

Wine tasting majorly involves your sense of smell. So if you’re wearing a really strong scent, it might interfere with the smell of the wine.

And even if it doesn’t bother you, you might be disturbing other people’s wine tasting experience. Out of common courtesy, we would suggest that you go light on the perfume.

Add a Layer

If you feel like your outfit is too simple or plain, put on some layers. A denim jacket or a stylish overcoat is a great way to add a little style to your look. You could consider floral or striped patterns and colorful combinations, but make sure you aren’t going for something too bulky because that would make it hard for you to move around freely.

At Artisan Excursion in Solvang, we offer the best wine tasting tours. We make sure that the experience is nothing short of perfection! For more details on our tours, contact us today!
