The Ultimate Wine Hangover Recovery Guide!

If you’ve been indulging in wine all night long, you’re probably going to wake up with a dreadful hangover. Though wine is a fruitful and delicious drink, it’s important for you to be cautious when drinking it. If it’s too late now, don’t fret, because there’s always a cure for every hangover!

If you let your guard down the night before and drank away that wine, there are many things you can do to cure that wine hangover. The symptoms may be unpleasant, but our simple tips will help you get back on your feet in no time!

Here is the ultimate wine hangover recovery guide:

Don’t sleep in late

As counterintuitive as it may sound, it’s extremely important for a quicker recovery. Waking up early will speed up your metabolism and get you back on your feet faster.

Stay hydrated

One of the best ways to cure a wine (or any hangover, really) is to drink plenty of water. If you don’t like having too much water, you can opt for lemonade. When you feel like you’ve had just enough, have some more! If you’ve got a menacing headache, you can pop a painkiller to help you relieve it.

However, only do this if the pain is severe and it isn’t going away on its own.

Exercise

We know you’ve had a long night, and the last thing you want to do is get out of bed. But in order to get your blood flowing and vanish the toxins from your body, you’ve got to exercise.

Don’t be hard on yourself and aim for a mere 10–15 minute light jog. Alternatively, you may also choose to brisk walk for 30 minutes.

Eat well

When you wake up with a wine hangover, the first thing your body needs is fuel a.k.a. food. Have a hearty, protein-rich breakfast and avoid oily or greasy foods. The pancakes, bacon, and hash browns may seem like the best comfort food option right now, but it’s not what you need.

Instead, opt for soft boiled or poached eggs and pair up with a slice of light toast. Other options include fruit and yogurt. Have this with a cup of coffee and you’re good to go. For lunch, miso soup can be a great option and can soothe your stomach.
