Alcohol is Good for the Soul!

Updated: Aug 21, 2022

Have you ever had one of those excruciatingly sorrowful times in your life when everything seemed dull and depressing? You know, times when you’re going through a breakup and end up losing your job as well? Or when you receive ten rejections from all the ten colleges that you applied to. That’s the thing with bad times—they always come in batches.

Different people have different ways of coping with times like these. Some would hit the gym and aggressively work out, trying to get the sad out of their system like they get the fat out. Others would go on a meditation mission, trying to import calmness from their inner souls.

But for most people out there, salvation lies in alcohol. And for good reason too.

It Acts like an Act Breaker

Sipping wine is like drinking fluid courage. You find that you’re more in the mood to hang out and you’re more in the mood to mingle with people. If you’ve had a breakup and feel sour about it, a glass of wine will prompt you to initiate a conversation with someone—and you won’t feel so lonely again.

It Makes You Feel Better

Better, and far more confident in yourself. It’s kind of like how holding a cigarette between your fingers immediately makes you feel more in control of everything. Having a few glasses of wine also makes you forget all the little details that make you feel so uncomfortable and insecure.

It Calms You

Our days and lives are already overburdened with a fast-paced schedule—add an emotional upheaval to the mix and you have even greater problems to deal with. It’s natural to lose your calm at times like these. All this running about makes you exhausted and tired, and you desperately need to stop it—you need to calm down. It might not be what you want, but it is what you need. A glass of wine helps you just so. If it makes your body a tad slower, you’ll thank it later.

Culinary Indulgence

Sometimes, the best cure for your blues is a good, large meal. We don’t mean you should dwell on episodes of binge or stress eating. We’re just saying, that sometimes you need to let yourself go—and the biggest shocker comes when you pair the right wine with the right food. Wine is the perfect catalyst that allows you to live your life to the fullest, without restrain or restriction. There’s even a Roman God, called Bacchus, whose great abilities included (a) allowing people to break free from their mundane lives and (b) making wine!

Need to Let Yourself Go?

One of the things you can plan for yourself with a group of friends is a retreat in one of California’s best vineyards. There’s wine tasting, sight-seeing, fine dining, and so much more waiting for you at Artisan Excursion Wine Tours Solvang—all you need to do is reach out and book!
