Made famous by its inclusion it the film Sideways, the delightful Santa Ynez valley was a visit-worthy place long before its media exposure.

Surrounded by the Santa Ynez Mountains that separate it from the Pacific, the region encompasses wide, scenic landscapes and of course, its highlights, the vineyards and wineries.

Perfect for a weekend getaway, this region has favorable climate for those willing to drive, bike and hike in the region. A visitor can also take pleasure from the beauties and specialties of the surrounding areas of Los Olivos, Solvang, and Buellton when visiting Santa Ynez.

The valley is wine lover’s dream come true. With excellent growing conditions and vast fields for cultivars that are used in some of the world’s finest wines, this place has a plethora of quaint wine tasting establishments. These have an air that is basically permeated with earthy aromas of wines!

Solvang

Influenced by its Spanish heritage, Solvang has a number of eateries specializing in traditional Danish foods, as well as a range of small shops. If the stories by Hans Christian Anderson have been at the top of your interests, then you will love a trip to the museum dedicated to the famed storyteller.

Activity Spots

If scenic bike rides are your cup of tea, then don’t miss out on riding along the lanes once taken here by various professional riders training or the Tour de France.

You can also opt for horseback rides along the valley. Stop by the wineries along the way to catch your breath and sample some bold flavors.

The Cachuma Lake is a great place or anyone looking to spend some peaceful quality time, boating and fishing.
